With laughter and fun, we are halfway through our first module of learning. Students have learned about ratios, equivalent ratios, ratio table, double number lines, ratio equations, and now have graphed ratios on a coordinate plane! They are very strong problem-solvers and great at coming up with new ways to explain and show their thinking!
They second half of the module moves into unit rates, comparing pricing, and percentages. Much of this kind of practice is very applicable to the world outside of math class. We will be looking at different sales strategies (20% off vs. BOGO, etc) as well as how stores price items to make a profit. I look forward to seeing what the students come up with next!
